Whether you’re producing vaping products, selling vaping items, or simply using them on a regular basis, it’s easy to feel like everyone is conspiring against you and your ability to manufacture, sell, and use these items. It’s undeniable that the media, politicians, lobbyists, and activist groups have been complicit in a concerted effort to bury the entire vaping industry.
Under the guise of altruism and protection, these groups are threatening the livelihoods and rights of millions of law-abiding, hard-working Americans. In the midst of this struggle, it’s easy to feel completely isolated, but there are some fantastic pro-vaping groups supporting vaping businesses and vaping users.
American Vaping Association
One of the most active and motivated nonprofit vaping advocacy groups is the American Vaping Association (AVA). This group has been fighting valiantly for the right of adults to use vaping products and e-cigarettes as a means to quit smoking. Gregory Conley, the AVA president, has testified before city councils, state legislatures, and a wide range of other government and public bodies in an attempt to dispel the misconceptions about vaping in favor of a balanced and truthful perspective. The AVA is a staunch defender of consumer choice and foundational rights. They’re a great resource of specific legislation across the country that threatens to limit the abilities of vaping sellers and users.
The Consumer Advocates for Smoke-Free Alternatives Association
Phew, that’s a mouthful! But, this organization’s relentless efforts to “ensure the availability of a variety of effective, affordable, reduced-harm alternatives to smoking” is something all vaping advocates can get behind. CASAA is focused on representing the interests of consumers in the legislative and policy-making realms. Their work extends across the entire country, and the team is primarily advocating for the benefit vaping has in supporting the cessation of cigarette smoking. Although CASAA is predominantly focused on consumer choices, its efforts inevitably protect the livelihood of businesses selling vaping products.
Vapor Technology Association
The Vapor Technology Association is focused on “protecting and promoting the U.S. vapor industry” making it one of the most pointed protectors of vaping businesses in the country. This organization is committed to growing the vapor industry through science-based policies that shield the vulnerable while protecting the rights of sellers and users. By defending the rights of small businesses to sell vaping products, VTA is directly supporting the vapor industry. This goal is achieved by dispelling misconceptions about vaping products, interacting with key decision-makers, and providing an honest, scientifically-driven image of vaping.
Smoke-Free Alternatives Trade Association
The Smoke-Free Alternatives Trade Association might not roll off the tongue, but its work is integral to the protection of vital rights of vaping brands, sellers, and users. With a stated mission of “saving vaping every day”, these are the kind of people you want on your side. Their efforts are focused on bringing about a vaping marketplace that’s “reasonably regulated.” It’s tough to argue with that reasoning. After all, vaping advocates simply want the same level of protection offered to traditional cigarettes. SFATA goes a step further than actively fighting against anti-vaping legislation by promoting a balanced, truthful, and positive image of vaping products by educating businesses throughout the industry.
Vaping Association of Retailers
The Vaping Association of Retailers (VAR) is a membership-based vaping retailer association in Oregon advocating for the rights of 21+ aged adults to purchase vaping products and the rights of retailers to sell those products to responsible of-age consumers. As the Oregon government flirts with the possibility of passing highly restrictive vaping legislation, VAR’s efforts are more critical than ever. VAR is completely comprised of like-minded retailers that all have a vested interest in protecting the ability of businesses to sell vaping products. It’s the foremost protector of Oregonian’s rights to sell, buy, and use vaping products, making it an essential partner for all pro-vape businesses in the state.
If you’re an Oregon-based retailer that sells vaping products, your rights, profits, and way of life are under attack from misguided anti-vape activists and vote-seeking politicians. VAR21 is pushing back against this assault, and we need your help to achieve our goal of preventing the passage of restrictive and overreaching legislation.
